The family of the National Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayesu Ntim,, has alleged attempts by some elements within the party to politicise his health, cautioning them to desist.
In a statement signed by the family head, the family expressed concern over a planned National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting, which Mr. Ntim is scheduled to chair, despite the leadership being aware of his recent health condition.
“The strength and wellness of every man rest in the hands of the Almighty. We urge individuals and groups within the party he leads and beyond to desist from politicising the health status of Mr. Ntim,” the family stated.
The statement warned that the family would resist any attempt to force Mr. Ntim to attend the said meeting.
This message marks the latest development regarding Mr. Ntim, who took a break from the NPP’s “Thank You” tour on May 1, 2025.
A statement at the time, signed by the party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, explained that Mr. Ntim was stepping aside temporarily to attend to “some pressing matters.”
He was expected to rejoin the team later, but this did not happen before the tour concluded on Wednesday, June 4, 2025.
