
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has officially outlined the rules and timelines for its upcoming Presidential Primary to elect a flagbearer for the 2028 General Elections.
According to a statement issued by the party’s headquarters on July 29, 2025, the primary will be held across all 276 constituencies on Saturday, January 31, 2026.
Nominations for aspirants will open on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, and close on Thursday, August 28, 2025.
Interested candidates are required to pay a non-refundable application fee of GH¢100,000, a filing fee of GH¢500,000, and a development fee to be determined by the party’s National Council.
Nomination forms will be available at the NPP’s national secretariat in Accra.
The rules were approved at a joint meeting of the party’s National Executive Committee and National Council on Friday, July 25, 2025.
