Nollywood star Charles Awurum arrives in Ghana for LilWin’s movie premiere

Sunyani is set to shine even brighter as renowned Nollywood actor Charles Awurum has arrived in Ghana ahead of the much-anticipated premiere of Kumawood star Lil Win’s latest movie, Captain Ibrahim Traoré.

Charles was welcomed at the Sunyani Airport three days before the event, scheduled for August 16, 2025. The warm reception reflects the strong friendship that began during their collaboration on the hit film A Country Called Ghana.

Welcoming him, Lil Win expressed heartfelt appreciation for Awurum’s gesture, saying, “I’m really glad to welcome my brother Charles Awurum from Nigeria ahead of the Captain Ibrahim Traoré premiere in Sunyani. So much love to my brother for coming all the way to support me.”

The Sunyani premiere is expected to draw a large crowd, with fans eager to see the cross-continental stars reunite on the red carpet.

Their collaboration has been celebrated for bridging Ghanaian and Nigerian cinema, and this latest show of solidarity has further fueled excitement for the event.
