The Bursar of the Northern School of Business Senior High School (NOBISCO), Fedelia Kudaariwo, has surrendered to the police after large quantities of foodstuffs meant for students were allegedly discovered in her residence.
According to JoyNews sources, nine bags of maize were intercepted in the school’s minibus on Thursday, October 30, as they were being moved out of the storehouse. The vehicle was stopped by a team of volunteers who had been monitoring suspicious activities around the school’s food storage facility.
The volunteers reportedly apprehended two drivers, Alhassan Sulemana and Osman Asma, who were transporting the items. The drivers allegedly mentioned the bursar as the person who instructed them to deliver the goods to her house.
Following this revelation, the volunteers proceeded to the bursar’s residence, where additional food items were allegedly found. However, the bursar was said to have fled the scene before the team arrived. She later turned herself in to the police.
The Headmaster of NOBISCO, Alhassan Dokurugu, confirmed the incident, explaining that he was off-campus when it occurred. Upon his return, he was briefed by the security personnel on duty.
Mr. Dokurugu expressed disappointment over the development, describing it as a setback to the school’s efforts to uphold its reputation.
“It’s disappointing that while we are working hard to project a positive image of the school, some individuals are dragging it down,” he said.
He assured that the school management would fully cooperate with investigators to uncover the truth behind the alleged theft.
