No tension after Ouattara’s exit – Alhaji Akanbi assures Hearts fans

-

Former Hearts of Oak board member Alhaji Braimah Akanbi has downplayed any suggestion of tension following recent changes to the club’s technical team.

The club parted ways with Ivorian coach Aboubakar Ouattara after the conclusion of the 2024/25 football season, replacing him with Mas-Ud Didi Dramani as part of a new project.

Speaking to Asempa FM, Alhaji Akanbi made it clear that there was mutual understanding between the two parties and that Ouattara was informed and supportive of the decision.

“We’ve sat with him and told him that this is the direction we want to go, and he has agreed. What is the problem here?” Akanbi said.

Dramani is expected to officially assume his duties this week as Hearts intensify preparations for the upcoming 2025 President’s Cup.

Meanwhile, the club is yet to announce a new role or future plans for Ouattara.
