The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Joseph Antwi Awal, is set to receive a prestigious award from the World Diplomatic Federation (WODIF) after being named one of the most outstanding MCEs in the Oti Region.
The award ceremony is scheduled for March 27, 2026, at the Mövenpick Ambassador Hotel in Accra and is expected to bring together stakeholders from government, civil society, and the diplomatic community.

According to the Superintendent General of WODIF, Rockson Issac, the recognition honours Joseph Antwi Awal’s exemplary leadership and development-focused initiatives within the Nkwanta South Municipality. He explained that the award highlights the MCE’s contributions to effective local governance and his commitment to advancing development in the municipality.
Rockson Issac further noted that Joseph Antwi Awal is the only Municipal Chief Executive in the Oti Region selected for the honour, describing the decision as a reflection of the impact of his work and the high standards he has demonstrated in public service.
