The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Nkwanta South, Joseph Antwi Awal, has visited the site of an ongoing school construction project in Nkpaya, a farming community in the Oti Region.

The project, funded by the Assembly Common Fund, is part of government efforts to improve infrastructure in basic schools.

Nkpaya M/A Basic School, established in 1963, has not received any significant infrastructure upgrades despite repeated requests to successive governments.

The MCE’s visit was aimed at assessing the progress of a 3-unit classroom block, a Kindergarten facility, and office space for teachers and students.

During the inspection, Joseph Antwi told Adom News that he was pleased with the rapid progress and expects the project to be completed soon. He assured residents that he will continue working to promote more development initiatives and attract additional opportunities to the municipality.

He encouraged community members to support the contractor to ensure the project is completed on time, enabling children in the area to benefit from improved educational facilities.

The contractor, Emmanuel Dzokoto of Dauda Issah Construction Limited, told the MCE that the project is scheduled for completion by the end of March 2026. He noted that while the access road to the site remains a challenge for transporting materials, the team is committed to finishing the project on schedule to provide quality education in the community.
