Nitiwul urges gov’t to release preliminary report on fatal helicopter crash

-

Former Defence Minister and Member of Parliament for Bimbilla, Dominic Nitiwul, has urged the government to release the preliminary report on the helicopter crash that claimed the lives of eight people, including Defence Minister Edward Omane Boamah and Environment Minister Murtala Muhammed.

The tragic incident, which occurred on August 6, 2025, is currently under investigation.

Speaking to journalists, Mr. Nitiwul emphasized the importance of transparency and timely communication, stating that Ghanaians deserve to be informed about the initial outcomes of the probe.

“It will take some time to arrive at a conclusive report, but I believe the initial findings should have been made public. People are anxious, and releasing the preliminary details would help calm nerves,” he said.

The former minister added that while a comprehensive investigation is necessary, providing early updates would demonstrate accountability and reassure the public about the government’s commitment to uncovering the truth behind the tragic crash.
