A 26-year-old Nigerian national, Victor Benjamin Fejemirokun, has been arrested by the Eastern South Regional Police Command for his alleged role in the abduction and murder of a Nigerian Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) officer and her daughter.

His arrest follows a viral video circulating in Nigeria, which alleged that he had kidnapped a woman working with the FRSC and her young daughter in Abeokuta.

The incident sparked widespread public concern and prompted an intensive manhunt by Nigerian authorities.

According to police sources, the suspect fled Nigeria shortly after the matter drew national attention and crossed into Ghana, where he went into hiding with friends at Akyem Wenchi in Akwatia.

Intelligence gathered by the Eastern South Regional Police Command confirmed his presence in the community, leading to a carefully coordinated operation that resulted in his arrest.

Fejemirokun is currently in police custody as investigations continue. The Ghana Police Service has indicated that arrangements are being finalized to hand him over to Nigerian authorities for prosecution.

The arrest underscores the strong collaboration between regional security agencies and reinforces Ghana’s commitment to ensuring that fugitives involved in serious crimes are not allowed to exploit its borders as safe havens.
