Newmont Ahafo South Mines has supported 200 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates at Kenyasi in the Ahafo Region with items to ensure a successful examination.

The items presented included 200 pieces of mathematical sets, 10 boxes of pens, 5 packs of bottled water, 10 packs of sachet water, 10 cartons of Malta Guinness, and 5 boxes of biscuits.

The Lead for Social Performance and Communities at Newmont Ahafo South Mines, Natalia Poku-Boansi, said the gesture is to let candidates know that the company is solidly behind them as they prepare to write the examination in the coming days.

She entreated the candidates to write the examination with confidence, noting that they have done their best, which will secure them the needed grades to further their education at the second-cycle or SHS level.

In addition, she advised them to desist from engaging in any form of malpractice, stressing that such acts can be an obstacle to a brighter future.

She encouraged them to remain focused, assuring them that the questions will be drawn from topics taught by their teachers.

Meanwhile, the Founder of Elevation Youth Fellowship, Francis Nsiah, on behalf of the candidates, thanked the company for deeming it necessary to support and advise them.

He said the candidates will make good use of the items and also adhere to the advice and directives given by the company in the examination.
