The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has tasted a dose of their own medicine for refusing to disband their vigilante groups, New Patriotic Party Communcation Team member, Ernest Kumi has said.

According to Ernest Kumi, the National Democratic Congress (NDC) would have averted such needless death if it had disbanded the Hawks.

His comment follows a shooting incident at the office of the Ashanti Regional branch of the NDC which led to the death of one and another seriously injured.

The incident happened during an altercation between the party’s taskforce and vigilante group, the Hawks. The National executives including the chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and General Secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketia escaped unhurt.

The NDC maintains that the supposed members of the vigilante group are not affiliated to the party.

Speaking on Adom FM’s morning show, Dwaso Nsem Tuesday, Ernest Kumi expressed shock at the conduct of some NDC executives.

Citing Asiedu Nketia as an example, he claimed the NDC scribe peddled an obvious untruth by trying to blame others for the attack.

The NPP man said he would’ve preferred the NDC opened up in the matter by assisting the police to apprehend the suspects to avoid the embarrassment caused by the militia groups.
