The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has issued an internal directive tightening control over who speaks on behalf of the party across media platforms, in a move aimed at streamlining its public messaging and protecting its communication strategy.

In a statement released by the party’s National Secretariat and marked for immediate attention, the directive indicated that from Monday, May 25, only approved spokespersons and designated communication teams will be allowed to represent the party on television, radio, and other media engagements.

According to the notice, any member who bypasses regional communication officers, panel placement teams, or the national communications outfit risks being sanctioned.

The party described the move as part of efforts to ensure discipline within its communication structure and to maintain consistency in messaging.

The statement also urged communicators to focus on highlighting what it called the party’s “exceptional performance over the past 17 months,” ongoing internal reorganisation, job creation efforts, and broader national development issues.

It further cautioned members against engaging in discussions that could, in its view, shift public scrutiny away from challenges facing the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP).

“No one should be lured into any subject that will turn the guns on us, and take the pressure off the mess the NPP is in,” the statement noted.

The directive, signed by Godwin Ako Gunn of the party’s communication office, forms part of what the party says is a renewed effort to centralise messaging and maintain strategic control of its public narrative.
