The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has said the party embarked on a thank-you tour to express gratitude to Ghanaians for their support in the last elections.

Speaking during the party’s visit to the Gomoa Central Constituency, Mr Asiedu Nketia said it was important for the NDC to return to the people who voted for the party and show appreciation for their confidence.

He stated that the party believed John Dramani Mahama was the right leader to help reset and move the country forward, and credited voters for making that vision a reality.

According to him, the NDC’s historic two-thirds majority in Parliament was achieved through the dedication and hard work of party branches and grassroots supporters, not just the national leadership.

Mr Asiedu Nketia stressed that the victory was a collective national effort, acknowledging the role played by pastors, imams, and traditional leaders who prayed and worked toward a peaceful election.

He added that even supporters of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) recognised the need for unity, noting that the country’s challenges require all Ghanaians to come together, like communal labour, to move the nation forward.
