Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP), has made insightful comments on two pressing issues facing Ghana.
Speaking on Good Morning Ghana on Metro TV, Nii Lantey emphasized the importance of competence-based leadership, stating that politicians who play the tribal card have never been successful.
As part of the Republic Day holiday discussion under the theme Promoting Ghanaian Language, he stressed that political leadership choices should be based on merit and capability rather than origin.
He noted that only weak individuals resort to exploiting divisive tactics, implying that strong leaders focus on delivering results and serving the people.
In a separate development, Nii Lantey Vanderpuye revealed that DRIP, in collaboration with security agencies, has mobilised low-bed trucks from regions including the Central and Volta Regions to transport 33 excavators seized from illegal miners in Samraboi in the Western Region.
He emphasized that the fight against galamsey requires a collective effort, urging all stakeholders to join forces to ensure its success.
He stressed the need for continued collaboration and vigilance to protect the country’s environment and secure a sustainable future.
