The National Anti-Illegal Mining Operations Secretariat (NAIMOS) taskforce has conducted a raid on the A4 Consolidated Field Ltd concession at Anyankyerem in the Amansie Central District of the Ashanti Region, removing illegal miners and restoring the site for lawful operations.

During the operation, equipment used by the illegal miners was destroyed to prevent further unauthorized mining. The exercise aimed to return control of the concession to its rightful owner.

Speaking to Adom News after the raid, A4 Consolidated Field Ltd Managing Director, Andy Augustus Amoah, said the company had planned to support surrounding communities through royalty payments to aid local development. However, galamsey operators had disrupted these efforts by forcibly taking over the concession.

He added that the company’s sustainability manager was assaulted during the takeover and that, despite reporting the incident to the police, no action had been taken.

Mr. Amoah expressed relief that NAIMOS had successfully cleared the illegal miners, allowing the company to resume its operations as a licensed small-scale miner. He extended gratitude to the security agencies and President for supporting efforts to clamp down on illegal mining and promote regulated operations.
