The Ahafo Regional Director of the National Disaster Management Organisation (NADMO), Gabriel Adu Bonsu, has announced a new partnership with the Environmental Health Department aimed at improving sanitation across the region.
Speaking to Adom News in Kenyasi, Mr. Adu Bonsu expressed concern over the increasing rate at which residents continue to litter streets and gutters despite regular cleanup exercises.

He warned that the situation poses serious health and environmental risks and requires collective effort to address.
Going forward, he cautioned, traders operating along gutters must ensure that drains are kept clean at all times. Anyone found contributing to unsanitary conditions will face prosecution by NADMO and the Environmental Health Department.
Mr. Adu Bonsu also urged assembly members and traditional leaders to stop intervening on behalf of sanitation offenders, stressing that such actions undermine efforts to improve cleanliness in the region.
He emphasised that NADMO and the Environmental Health Department will no longer entertain pleas or apologies for offenders, with strict enforcement measures to be applied to restore proper sanitation standards.
