NADeF moves to address school infrastructure deficit in Tano North

To enhance teaching and learning in the Tano North Municipality, the Newmont Ahafo Development Foundation (NADeF) has initiated steps to address the infrastructure challenges confronting schools in the Ahafo Region.

The intervention follows an inspection tour of ongoing educational projects in Adrobaa, Terchire, and Susuanso.

Board Chairman of NADeF, Professor Yaw Ofosu Kusi, expressed concern in an interview with Adom News about the learning conditions at the Adrobaa Technical Institute, citing a lack of classrooms and dormitories as factors affecting teaching and learning.

He also pointed to the deteriorating state of the six-unit classroom block at Terchire R/C Basic School, describing it as unfit for education. He said this prompted NADeF to begin renovation works on the facility.

Professor Kusi praised the contractors working on the projects in Adrobaa and Terchire for their commitment and quality of work.

In a separate interview, headteacher of Terchire R/C Basic School, Kwasi Adu, said the poor state of the school had impacted academic performance and contributed to a drop in enrollment. He described NADeF’s intervention as timely and crucial for improving the school’s learning environment.
