Muslim leaders have called on President John Dramani Mahama to prioritise the completion of abandoned Senior High School (SHS) projects associated with the Muslim community.

The appeal was made during a meeting with the President at Jubilee House on Tuesday, November 25.

The leaders expressed concern over stalled infrastructure projects that began during President Mahama’s first tenure but remain unfinished.

Sheikh Dr Amin Bonsu, who led the delegation, stressed the urgency of completing the facilities, noting that the Ghana Muslim Mission had funded nearly 85 percent of infrastructure in Muslim SHSs.

He highlighted the Ghana Muslim Senior High School in Kumasi, one of the country’s most populous Muslim schools, which remains incomplete. He also cited an unfinished dormitory project in the Sekyere Central District and appealed for school buses to support the institutions.

“We urgently need the infrastructure. The Ghana Muslim Senior High School in Kumasi is still not completed, and the dormitory you started in Sekyere Central is also not complete. We also need buses,” he said.

The leaders urged the government to fast-track the completion of these projects to improve educational access and conditions for Muslim students.
