Mulan Smart Educational Center is set to make history on Friday, August 14, 2026, with the official launch of the Pyramid Emotional and Social Intelligence Framework, an innovative educational programme designed to transform how children develop emotional resilience, social competence, self-awareness and interpersonal skills.
According to Mrs Thara Brigitte Mills, CEO of Mulan Smart Educational Center and Autism Advocate, the school has partnered with the Pyramid Model Consortium USA to introduce the Pyramid Emotional and Social Intelligence Framework.
The landmark collaboration marks the first introduction of the framework in West Africa, positioning Ghana at the forefront of a new era in inclusive, child-centred education.
The framework is grounded in the understanding that academic excellence alone is not sufficient to prepare children for the future. It places equal emphasis on emotional intelligence, empathy, communication, collaboration, self-regulation, responsible decision-making and healthy relationship-building — skills increasingly recognised as essential for lifelong success.
The launch reflects Mulan Smart Educational Center’s commitment to creating learning environments where every child, regardless of ability or learning style, is empowered to thrive academically, socially and emotionally.
By integrating emotional and social intelligence into everyday learning, the school aims to nurture confident, compassionate and resilient young people equipped to succeed in school, at home and within their communities.
Research continues to demonstrate that children who develop strong emotional and social competencies achieve improved academic outcomes, build stronger relationships, enhance problem-solving abilities and experience better mental well-being.
Evidence-based frameworks that support social-emotional development have also been shown to improve classroom behaviour, strengthen family engagement and advance inclusive education for children with diverse learning needs.

Dr Corso is expected to share insights into the Pyramid Model and its impact on improving outcomes for children, families and educators worldwide.
