A tragic road accident has claimed the life of a motorcyclist following a head-on collision with a Toyota Highlander on the Kyeremasu-Ampenkuro road in the Dormaa East District of the Bono Region.
The incident, which occurred between 8:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday, involved a Toyota Highlander with registration number BR 95-25 and a Hajou motorcycle.
According to an eyewitness, the motorcyclist died on the spot after colliding head-on with the SUV.
The body of the deceased has since been deposited at the Wamfie Government Hospital mortuary for preservation, pending police investigation.
Meanwhile, the driver of the Toyota Highlander has reported himself to the police and is assisting with investigations.
The crash has thrown the community into mourning, with residents expressing growing concern over the increasing number of road accidents in the area.
Local authorities are urging all road users to exercise extreme caution, particularly during nighttime travel.
