An unidentified motor rider has died after being struck by a convoy of men dressed in military uniforms on the Yendi–Bimbilla highway.
Eyewitnesses say the men refused to disclose their identities or explain who they were escorting to Dambai when confronted by residents.
One member of the group, who was not in uniform, allegedly pleaded that the incident should not be reported and assured that “a solution would be found.”
The men claimed they did not know how the rider collided with their convoy. They later transported the body in their vehicle toward Bimbilla without identifying any relatives of the deceased.
According to an eyewitness who requested anonymity, the convoy had occupied both lanes of the road while the rider was ahead. The victim, who was wearing a helmet, reportedly did not hear the approaching vehicles, resulting in the fatal crash.
