Tottenham Hotspur manager Thomas Frank has confirmed that Mohammed Kudus will be sidelined until April after suffering a thigh injury in last weekend’s match against Sunderland.

The Ghana international was forced to leave the pitch in the first half, and subsequent scans have revealed damage to his tendon and quadriceps, ruling him out for an extended period.

Providing an update on Thursday, Frank admitted the injury represents a significant blow for Spurs at a crucial stage of the campaign.

“Kudus is a bigger one, to the tendon and quad, and don’t expect him back until after the March international break,” the Tottenham boss said.

With the international break ending late in March, Kudus is now expected to return at the beginning of April, leaving him available for only the final seven Premier League matches of the season.

The injury also means the 23-year-old will miss Ghana’s international friendly against Germany on March 30 in Stuttgart.

Kudus has featured 19 times for Tottenham this season, scoring twice before his injury setback.
