Mohammed Kudus disappointed after Super Cup loss to PSG

Ghana international Mohammed Kudus has voiced his disappointment following Tottenham Hotspur’s narrow defeat to Paris Saint-Germain in the Super Cup.

Spurs appeared to be in control, taking a 2-0 lead through goals from Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero in the first and second halves, respectively.

However, PSG fought back late in the game, with second-half substitutes Lee Kang-in and Gonçalo Ramos scoring in the final five minutes to level the match at 2-2.

The match ultimately went to penalties, where Van de Ven and Mathys Tel missed for Spurs, handing PSG a 4-3 shootout victory at the Bluenergy Stadium.

“It is disappointing to lose the game in the end. This is a big lesson to stay focused for the whole 90 minutes, but I am really proud of the team for their work ethic, their energy, because I think we had them for most part of the game — just the last part we need to keep full concentration,” he said.

Kudus further emphasised the need to bounce back.

“We take this as a lesson. We have a game at the weekend and we have full focus on that,” he added.

The 23-year-old attacker is expected to feature in Tottenham’s Premier League opener against Burnley this weekend.
