Minority march to protest undeclared Ablekuma North election result

-

The Minority in Parliament on Wednesday, June 4, 2025, marched to the headquarters of the Ghana Police Service in protest over the undeclared Ablekuma North parliamentary election result.

Addressing journalists, the Minority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh-Dompreh, urged the police to provide protection to the Electoral Commission (EC) to facilitate the declaration of the results.

The Caucus presented a petition demanding immediate clarity and accountability from the EC and law enforcement.

They cautioned that the continued delay undermines democracy and the rights of Ablekuma North residents.

Nearly six months after the December 7, 2024, general election, the parliamentary results for Ablekuma North remain officially undeclared, despite full voter participation.

Both the National Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate, Ewurabena Aubynn, and the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Nana Akua Owusu Afriyie have declared themselves winners.

The collation process, however, has been marred by violence, missing pink sheets, and legal interventions, while multiple attempts to finalise the results have proven futile.
