The Ministry of Education has condemned in the strongest terms the acts of violence captured in viral videos, reportedly involving students from two schools in the Central Region.
Preliminary information indicates that the students seen in the footage belong to the institutions within the region. Authorities have assured the public that immediate steps are being taken to investigate the matter.
The Director-General of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has been directed to conduct a thorough probe. He is scheduled to meet with the Central Regional Director of GES, the relevant district directors, and the heads of the affected schools at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2026, at the GES headquarters in Accra.
While awaiting the outcome of the investigation, the Ministry emphasised that both the Education Minister and sector leaders view the incident with utmost seriousness. It further warned that individuals found culpable will face strict disciplinary action once investigations are concluded.
