
The Ghana Armed Forces in Nkwanta, local police, and football legends came together for a friendly match to promote peace and stability in the Nkwanta South Municipality of the Oti Region.
Held at the Nkwanta English and Arabic School Park and organized by Beyond the Word Ministries, the match featured the Nkwanta All Stars taking on a team of former footballers. The event drew a large crowd, with residents, chiefs, and dignitaries turning out to support the cause.
Traditional leaders, including Nana Okagyah of Akyode, Nana Amanfo Monfankye of Adele, and Nana Gedisa Okunte of Challa, also participated, showcasing their athletic spirit and emphasizing the importance of unity.
Municipal Chief Executive Joseph Antwi Awal praised the military and police for their unwavering commitment to peace and security, urging stronger cooperation between security agencies and the community.
ASP Elvis Ntow, Oti Regional Operations Commander of the Ghana Police Service, called on chiefs and residents to remain dedicated to peaceful coexistence, warning that recurring conflicts could undermine development in the area.
The event concluded in high spirits, filled with laughter, camaraderie, and sportsmanship, reinforcing the message that peace and unity are essential for progress in Nkwanta South.
