Medeama SC head coach Ibrahim Tanko has praised his players’ fighting spirit after they came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against Hohoe United in the Ghana Premier League.
The Tarkwa-based side displayed resilience to secure a point at the Hohoe Sports Stadium on Saturday in their Matchday 8 encounter.
Francis Odoom gave the home side the lead before Abdul Salah equalised for the 2022/23 champions.
Reflecting on the performance, Tanko expressed satisfaction with his team’s attitude and felt they could have taken all three points.
“I think looking at the performance we put up, it’s a deserved result. Normally, we should have won because we created most of the chances. But one point away is good,” he said.
“Like I said, we had the chances — even our defender Kamaradini [Mamudu] missed two. But we were playing away, went 1-0 down, and had to push harder. I’m happy we came back. This kind of performance is good for us going forward,” he added.
The result keeps Medeama in second place with 18 points and sets up a highly anticipated top-of-the-table clash at home against league leaders Aduana FC on Matchday 9.
