A man seen in a widely circulated video violently assaulting a woman, believed to be his wife, has been remanded into police custody, along with two others accused of attempting to intimidate a witness.
The Magistrate Court at the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit ordered that all three suspects remain in custody while police continue their investigations.
The primary suspect, John Odartey Lamptey, also known as Nii Adjei, faces a charge of Physical Assault under Sections 1(b)(i) and 3(2) of the Domestic Violence Act, 2007 (Act 732).
Two others, Louis Odartey Lamptey and Grace Kushie Lamptey, have been charged with conspiracy to commit harm. Police allege that the pair attempted to confront a female tenant they suspected of filming and sharing the assault video.
All three suspects are expected back in court on December 3, 2025.
Meanwhile, police say the woman who was assaulted has still not been located.
The public is being urged to assist in finding her, and anyone with useful information is encouraged to report to the nearest police station. Authorities have assured that all information provided will be treated confidentially.

The update was issued in a statement signed by Chief Inspector Brigitte Babanawo, Public Relations Officer for the Criminal Investigation Department.
