A young man identified as Ernest Mohamed Adjiri has been arrested for unlawful possession of narcotics in the Greater Accra Region.
Mohamed was apprehended by the National Highway Patrol Unit of the Ghana Police Service through a special intelligence-led operation.
The operation, conducted by a team of police officers, led to the retrieval of 120 slabs of compressed dried leaves suspected to be narcotic drugs. The items were concealed in three fertilizer sacks on board a Hyundai i10 taxi cab with registration number GW 9832-22.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted ownership of the items.
In a statement, the Police indicated that Mohamed is currently in custody and will be arraigned before court.
