A 33-year-old man, identified as Godwin Agelooro, has been found dead by the roadside following a violent altercation at a drinking spot in Dunkwa Kyekyewere Station, in the Upper Denkyira area of the Central Region.

The incident occurred late on Sunday, January 4, 2026, while the deceased was socialising at a drinking spot in the community.

Speaking to Adom News, the deceased’s brother, Samuel Akazine, said the incident began when a woman allegedly approached Godwin Agelooro and touched his dreadlocks without his consent.

According to him, when the deceased questioned the woman over her actions, a man believed to be her boyfriend intervened, resulting in a heated verbal exchange.

Mr. Akazine explained that the confrontation escalated into a physical fight but was initially brought under control, leading to the parties dispersing.

However, he said the deceased later returned to the area, where a second altercation reportedly occurred.

Godwin Agelooro was later found lifeless by the roadside in the early hours of Monday, January 5, 2026, with visible injuries suspected to have been sustained during the renewed clash.

The body has since been deposited at the Dunkwa Government Hospital mortuary for preservation and further examination.

Meanwhile, the Ghana Police Service has confirmed that no arrests have been made so far.

Police say investigations have been launched to establish the circumstances surrounding the death and to bring the perpetrators to justice.
