Unknown assailants have shot and killed a 27-year-old man, Awal, at Konongo Low Cost in the Asante Akyem Central Municipality of the Ashanti Region.
The incident occurred around 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, as Awal, a gold dealer, returned from work.
Neighbours who spoke to Adom News said the attackers shot Awal inside his residence before fleeing. It is suspected that the assailants may have trailed him prior to the attack.
The attackers reportedly made away with a bag believed to contain cash and gold belonging to the deceased.
Residents have appealed to the government and security agencies to intensify security measures in the area to prevent similar violent crimes in the future.
