Man, 25, arrested in connection with robbery at Millennium City

The Central East Regional Police Command has arrested a 25-year-old suspect, Okolie Samuel, in connection with a robbery incident that occurred at Sector 5, a suburb of Millennium City in Kasoa, Central Region.

Preliminary investigations revealed that around 5:30 a.m. on Thursday, July 10, 2025, the suspect attacked and robbed a female victim near the Golden Prime Preparatory School.

Okolie reportedly made away with her handbag containing an iPhone 16 Pro Max and a purse with an unspecified amount of money.

Following intelligence-led investigations and with assistance from the victim, the suspect was tracked to his hideout at Ngleshie Amanfrom, a suburb of Accra.

A search of the location led to the recovery of the stolen iPhone 16 Pro Max, which the victim positively identified.

Additional items retrieved from the scene included:

  • One Dell laptop

  • Two Itel mobile phones

  • One Nokia phone

  • One Alcatel mobile phone

  • One Vodafone WiFi device

  • Two pairs of AirPods

  • One gold necklace

  • Three wristwatches

  • One ladies’ purse

  • One wallet containing a health insurance card bearing the name Kwapong Sahnan

  • Ten memory cards

In a statement signed by the Head of Public Affairs, DSP Victor Kofi Dosoo, the police indicated that Okolie is currently in custody, assisting with investigations, and will be put before court to face justice.

Meanwhile, anyone who may have fallen victim to the suspect’s robbery activities has been urged to visit the Regional Police Command to assist with ongoing investigations.

The Command further assured the public of its continued commitment to rid the streets and communities of criminal elements and urged all to cooperate in ensuring public safety and security.
