Mamiriwa No. 2 gets CHPS compound, nurses’ quarters through Obuasi Trust Fund

Residents of Mamiriwa No. 2 in the Obuasi Municipality can now boast of a new CHPS compound and nurses’ quarters, a project funded by the Obuasi Community Trust Fund to improve healthcare delivery in rural communities.

The facility, which was commissioned and handed over to stakeholders at a ceremony in the Ashanti Region, is expected to bring relief to residents who previously had limited access to healthcare services.

Board Chairman of the Obuasi Community Trust Fund, Binpong Marfo, told Adom News that the facility goes beyond the status of a regular CHPS compound due to the addition of a fully furnished nurses’ quarters.

According to him, the new quarters can accommodate up to four health personnel, ensuring that medical staff are available to serve the community at all times.

He added that the Trust Fund had also provided the necessary medical equipment to support effective service delivery.

Obuasi Municipal Chief Executive, Faustina Amissah, described the project as timely, noting that it would greatly enhance healthcare delivery in the area.

She assured residents that the assembly would work to address the poor road network leading to the community, which has long hampered access to health services.

Some community members also expressed their relief, explaining that the bad state of the road has often made it difficult to reach healthcare facilities during emergencies.

They believe the new CHPS compound will ease their burden and help solve longstanding health challenges in Mamiriwa No. 2.
