President John Mahama on Sunday visited Vice President Professor Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang, who is currently recovering from an illness in London.
Mr. Mahama’s visit was to extend warm Mother’s Day greetings to Prof. Opoku-Agyemang on May 11, 2025.
In a Facebook post informing Ghanaians about the visit, the President described the encounter as a meaningful gesture.
He also used the opportunity to celebrate all mothers nationwide, stating, “To her and all Ghanaian mothers, I say Happy Mother’s Day.”
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang suffered a sudden illness on Friday, March 28, 2025, and sought medical attention at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
However, following advice from medical officers, the Vice President travelled abroad to seek further treatment.
Prof. Opoku-Agyemang subsequently embarked on a three-week medical leave on April 7, 2025, prioritising her health and well-being.
