The Founder and General Overseer of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has expressed strong confidence in President John Dramani Mahama’s ability to provide credible and transformational leadership during his tenure.
Speaking in an interview on Channel One TV, Archbishop Duncan-Williams praised President Mahama’s renewed sense of purpose, describing him as both a visionary and selfless leader.
He emphasized that the President’s return to office is backed by experience and a firm commitment to learn from the past in order to chart a more impactful path for Ghana’s development.
“When you look at some of the crises on our continent, it just doesn’t make sense. I don’t want to name countries, but it is baffling for us to retrogress with all that we have. This country and continent have had great leaders, and still do in some areas,” he said.
“There’s no reason why this continent, and Ghana in particular, should not thrive and flourish. There’s no reason why our currency cannot improve. With the gold reserves we have, along with oil and cocoa, we can do better.”
He added, “We need visionary and selfless leaders. I believe President John Dramani Mahama is that kind of leader. He has been here before, learned from his past mistakes, and has returned with drive, passion, and determination to correct those mistakes and make a difference. He wants to be remembered as someone who made a real impact.”
The Archbishop’s endorsement comes at a time when Ghana is focusing on inclusive governance, economic stability, and renewed faith in political leadership. His remarks contribute to the national conversation about leadership accountability and the expectations placed on the current administration.
