President John Dramani Mahama has directed the Majority Leader and the Majority Chief Whip in Parliament to withdraw the Private Member’s Bill seeking to repeal the Act that established the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP).
The directive follows the President’s reaffirmation of his commitment to strengthening the anti-graft institution during a meeting with the National Peace Council on Wednesday.
President Mahama emphasised that the OSP remains a crucial institution in the country’s fight against corruption.
He also encouraged the Office to intensify its work, restore and boost public confidence, and address corruption more decisively in line with its core mandate.
