President John Dramani Mahama has strongly condemned recent attacks on teachers, expressing deep concern over the handling of a reported assault involving a teacher and students of Kade Senior High School.

The incident, which went viral online in October 2025, showed students allegedly attacking a mathematics teacher after he refused to allow them to cheat during an examination.

Reports indicate that although the case was reported to the police, it was later settled out of court after the parents of the students compensated the teacher.

Speaking at the Delegates Conference of the Ghana National Association of Teachers (GNAT), President Mahama described the development as unfortunate and disappointing, stressing that the students involved should have faced formal disciplinary and legal consequences.

He emphasised that assault is a criminal offence and insisted that, at the very least, the students should have been taken through the legal process and bonded to be of good behaviour.

President Mahama assured teachers of his firm support, stating that attacks on educators would not be tolerated and would be dealt with decisively.
