
President John Mahama has nominated a fresh batch of Ambassadors and High Commissioners to represent Ghana at various diplomatic missions worldwide.
The appointments, announced in a statement signed by the Secretary to the President, Dr. Callistus Mahama, follows consultations with the Council of State.
The move reflects the administration’s strategy to reshape Ghana’s foreign engagement under the current political direction.
Among those nominated is former Deputy Finance Minister and economist Mona Helen Kabuki Quartey, who has been chosen to lead Ghana’s mission to the Italian Republic.
Renowned energy expert Dr. Kwame Ampofo has been named as the envoy to Hungary.
Veteran politician Paul Evans Aidoo is designated to represent Ghana in Kenya, while former Deputy Speaker of Parliament Magnus Kofi Amoatey has been nominated for the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Attah Kojo Choi, who relocated to Ghana at age 14 and has since become a naturalised citizen, has been nominated for the Republic of South Korea.

The Presidency has directed the appropriate authorities to commence official procedures to process the nominations.
As required by law, the nominees will undergo further vetting and approval in accordance with constitutional guidelines.
