The Office of the First Lady has expressed relief that the newborn stolen from Mamprobi Polyclinic has been safely recovered and reunited with her biological mother and family.

In a statement issued on February 18, 2026, Her Excellency, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, commended the Ghana Police Service for their swift and professional response in apprehending the suspect and ensuring the safe return of the baby.

While expressing empathy for women and families facing challenges with conception, Mrs. Lordina Mahama stressed that desperation must never justify such unconscionable acts.

She further urged medical facilities and maternity homes to implement stringent security measures to protect newborns and mothers under their care, emphasising that the safety of every mother and child must be a top priority.

Mrs. Mahama also encouraged those genuinely seeking to build families through adoption to follow lawful procedures by engaging accredited adoption agencies and adhering to proper legal processes.

She concluded by praying for continued protection and blessings for the baby and her family during this period.
