Local Gov’t Minister urges public to prioritise sanitation, food safety amidst Easter festivities

The Ministry of Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs has urged citizens to give priority to sanitation, environmental cleanliness, and safe food practices during the Easter period.

In a message marking the celebration, the Minister, Ahmed Ibrahim, appealed to the public to keep their surroundings clean, manage waste responsibly, and observe proper hygiene throughout the holidays.

“As we celebrate this season, we must also take responsibility for protecting the environment and safeguarding public health by ensuring proper food handling and preparation,” he said.

He further encouraged Ghanaians to embrace the spirit of love, unity, and compassion associated with Easter, highlighting that peaceful coexistence and mutual respect among people of different faiths are vital for national harmony.

Mr. Ibrahim extended warm Easter wishes to all citizens, describing the season as one of joy, renewal, and hope.
