Lives were lost for this cause – DRIP Coordinator pushes for tougher galamsey measures

In a display of respect and solidarity, National Coordinator of the District Road Improvement Programme, Edwin Nii Lantey Vanderpuye, led his team in laying flowers at the Jubilee House in solemn remembrance of the eight heroes who tragically lost their lives in the helicopter crash on Wednesday at Adansi Brofoyedru.

As he placed the wreath, Vanderpuye’s voice was filled with emotion as he paid tribute to the fallen individuals who were dedicated to serving the nation.

With a heavy heart, he called on the leadership of the National Democratic Congress to provide support and care for the children of the deceased, ensuring that they are not left to suffer in the wake of this devastating tragedy.

Vanderpuye’s words were laced with conviction as he emphasized the need for ruthless strategies to combat the menace of galamsey, which has been wreaking havoc on Ghana’s environment.

He stated that the sacrifice of these eight individuals should serve as a catalyst for decisive action, underscoring that any effort to stop galamsey must be comprehensive and unwavering.

With evident pain in his voice, Vanderpuye declared, “No ruthless strategy can be too great a price to pay for the lives lost.

These individuals gave their lives to bring an end to this menace, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that their sacrifice is not in vain.”

His words resonated with a sense of urgency as he reiterated his commitment to supporting any effort to protect Ghana’s environment and bring an end to the destructive practice of galamsey.
