The Finance Minister of Liberia has instituted some strict rules at the Ministry which includes a ban on “unnatural hairs”.
Sector minister, Mr Samuel D. Tweah, has taken the decision to bar his employees from using ‘unnatural hair” or any colour extensions.
According to him, persons with such hairs will not be allowed to enter into the Ministry’s offices effective October 1, 2018.

He further warned that anyone who falls victim will still have her salary reduced by the number of days she would choose not to come to work.
Meanwhile, a top management staff backed the Finance Minister’s decision, saying it is within the confines of the laws of the MFDP employee handbook.
Section 7.4 of the employee handbook is actually titled, “Personal Appearance”. It also has a line which states: “Unnatural coloured hair (Green, Pink etc.) and extreme hairstyles such as spiked hair do not present an appropriate professional experience.”
“We are acting on the orders of the Minister, sister,” a security guard at the Ministry confirmed the strictness of the ban on “unnatural hair”, as quoted by HowAfrica.com, yen.com.gh reported.

However, it appears only female employees are being affected by the new policy from the Ministry at the moment.
According to a report by FrontPage Africa, some male employees were allowed to enter despite wearing ‘funny’ hair on their heads. “We were told to only stop these girls dem, my sister,” another security guard is quoted as saying.
