Former Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia says Ghanaians must see clear evidence of the lessons the New Patriotic Party (NPP) has learned as it reorganises for the future.
Speaking at the NPP’s 2025 National Delegates Conference, Dr. Bawumia stressed that the party’s reorganisation efforts should go beyond preparing to win elections and focus on delivering better governance.
“The real objective of our reorganisation is not just to win elections but to be better placed to provide good governance to the people,” he said.
“We must ensure that Ghanaians genuinely see the lessons we have learnt and are willing to apply next time round. We shouldn’t be shy about them. It is then that our fellow countrymen and women will give us another opportunity to serve.”
Dr. Bawumia urged party faithful to remain consistent in addressing internal challenges and national issues alike. He noted that the NPP has learned valuable lessons that should guide its future actions.
“In governance, there are ups and downs, and we have experienced both under Presidents John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Akufo-Addo. But our monumental achievements will stand the test of time,” he added.
The former Vice President called for unity and commitment within the party as it rebuilds trust with the Ghanaian electorate.
