Executive Director of Irbard Security Consult, Irbard Ibrahim, has called for death penalty for Eric Kojo Dua, the suspected murderer of two police officers at Gomoa Buduburam in the Central Region and his accomplices.
The outspoken security analyst thinks that executing them by firing squad would be a clear deterrent to others “in the face of clear evidence.”
“I don’t know why the State should waste time instead of giving them a taste of their own premeditated poison,” he lashed out.
Human rights advocates are against the execution of convicted suspects no matter the crime, but Alhaji Ibrahim believes that the State should not waste time by allowing the suspected murderer to continue to live since human rights activists are silent on the “unbearable pain left behind by such murderers.”
“Give me a reason why these murderers should not be put to death too? Why would we waste the time of our courts going for long unending cross examinations and wasting the taxpayer’s money to feed these murderers for so many years all in the name of life sentence?” his statement read in part.
He thinks that those who do not respect the human rights of others to live should not be left to live. “…we keep tolerating these murderers all in the name of human rights when they didn’t respect the rights of others to life.”
Ghana has not carried out executions of convicted criminals for decades now though the sentence exists in law books.

In the face of clear evidence that someone takes away the life of another, I don’t know why the State should waste time instead of giving them a taste of their own premeditated poison.
Talks of human rights are insensitive to families that lose their loved ones through wanton murder in Ghana. What human rights are you talking about? If a murderer doesn’t recognize the right of his victim to life, why should the State allow him to continue living? Are we not being unfair to victims of murder?
As we speak, the slain cops have left behind little kids who will taste the pain of growing up as orphans with all its insecurity and young wives who will go through the hardship of widowhood and bringing up their kids as single mothers.
What are the so-called human rights and gender activists saying about the trail of unbearable pain left behind by such murderers?

Major Mahama was gruesomely killed and burned, a sitting MP was murdered in cold blood and the list goes on and on and we keep tolerating these murderers all in the name of human rights when they didn’t respect the rights of others to life’ – Alhaji Irbard Ibrahim.
