Asante Kotoko striker Kwame Opoku is confident that the club will secure at least one trophy before the end of the 2024/25 football season.
The Porcupine Warriors boosted their Premier League title hopes with a dominant 4-1 win over Dreams FC last weekend. Opoku was instrumental in the victory, scoring a goal and providing an assist.
The win came just days after Kotoko sealed a place in the FA Cup final, where they will face Division One side Golden Kick FC.
Speaking to the media after the game, Opoku expressed his determination to help the team end the season with silverware.
“For the FA Cup, we can’t go trophyless this season—no, it’s not happening,” he said.
“We are hoping that by the end of the season, we’ll lift a trophy. If not the league, then we must win the FA Cup for Asanteman,” he added.
With three matches remaining in the Ghana Premier League, Kotoko sit fourth on the table with 54 points, just three points behind the leaders.
Opoku, who has now netted 10 goals this season, is aiming to increase his tally and play a key role in Kotoko’s push for a potential domestic double.
Kotoko will travel to DUN’s Park on Sunday to face Bibiani GoldStars in a crucial Matchday 32 clash.
