Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park honoured for excellence in Tourism Development at 2025 Ghana Tourism Awards

The Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park has been recognised for excellence in Tourism Site and Attraction Development at the 2025 Ghana Tourism Awards.

The Ghana Tourism Authority commended the park for its remarkable transformation into a “world-class historical destination,” offering visitors an enriching and comprehensive experience of Ghana’s independence history.

“Your recent redevelopment has elevated the site into a national treasure that blends heritage, history, and hospitality, attracting thousands from home and abroad,” the Authority noted.

Acting Executive Director of the Park, Dr. Collins Rawlings Nunyonameh, expressed joy at the recognition and dedicated the award to the entire park staff.

“This honour affirms our efforts to reposition the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park as a heritage site of choice in Ghana and across the world,” he said.

Dr. Nunyonameh added that the award will motivate the team to further promote Dr. Kwame Nkrumah’s legacy, ensuring his vision and ideals for Ghana and Africa continue to resonate strongly.

He also extended gratitude to stakeholders who supported the park’s transformation, including Tourism Minister Abla Dzifa Gomashie, the CEO of the Ghana Tourism Authority, Maame Efua Huadjeto, and the awards jury chairman and GTA Deputy CEO (Marketing), Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey.

Dr. Nunyonameh reaffirmed the park’s commitment to the National Democratic Congress’ reset agenda and the vision of President John Dramani Mahama, stating that the park will continue working to deliver the transformation expected of the iconic national monument.
