The 2026 Kwahu Business Forum has emerged as a key platform for translating ideas into tangible outcomes, with Chief of Staff Julius Debrah highlighting the need for action-oriented strategies to drive Ghana’s economic transformation.

Speaking at the forum, Mr. Debrah emphasised that the event is more than a ceremonial gathering. “The Kwahu Business Forum is not a ceremony; it is an instrument for converting ideas into outcomes,” he said, stressing the importance of moving beyond discussion to measurable results.

Describing Kwahu as a symbol of enterprise and discipline, the Chief of Staff added, “Kwahu represents enterprise, discipline, and the courage to build something meaningful from modest beginnings.” He further noted that Ghana requires platforms that convert conversation into collaboration and collaboration into results.

Hon. Debrah cautioned against over-reliance on raw material exports, stating, “No nation becomes truly prosperous by exporting raw materials and importing finished value.” He urged a strategic focus on manufacturing as the cornerstone of national growth, highlighting its potential to generate employment not only in factories but across the entire value chain.

“If Ghana is serious about transformation, then manufacturing must sit at the centre of our growth strategy,” he said.

The Chief of Staff also underscored the importance of collaboration between government and the private sector, noting, “Government and business cannot operate as strangers; they must work as partners in building a stronger economy.” He encouraged businesses to prioritise long-term sustainability, accountability, and disciplined operations, saying, “The businesses that will endure are not only profitable, but disciplined, accountable, and built for longevity.”

Mentorship was another key theme at the forum. Hon. Debrah described it as a vital economic strategy, stating, “Mentorship is not charity; it is an economic strategy for reproducing excellence and sustaining growth.” He urged established business leaders to guide young entrepreneurs to ensure continuity and shared prosperity.

Concluding his address, Hon. Debrah issued a rallying call for decisive action: “This is our time not just to discuss Ghana’s economic destiny, but to build it.”

The 2026 Kwahu Business Forum, held in Mpraeso, continues to reinforce the country’s commitment to industrialisation, enterprise development, and the creation of sustainable jobs for a growing youthful population.
