Former Member of Parliament for Pru East, Dr. Kwabena Donkor, has commissioned a modern 12-unit health centre in Parambo Sawaba, bringing renewed hope for improved healthcare delivery in the community.
The new facility is set to serve as a major health hub for residents of Parambo Sawaba and neighbouring communities. It includes consulting rooms, a maternity ward, a dispensary, laboratories, and offices for health workers.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Dr. Donkor described the project as a reflection of his commitment to enhancing healthcare infrastructure in rural areas. He emphasized that quality healthcare is a basic right, not a privilege, and noted that the centre will help ease the burden on existing health facilities in the Pru East District.
He urged health workers assigned to the centre to demonstrate dedication and professionalism to ensure the community maximizes the benefits of the new facility.
The District Health Director, Mr. Ahmed Ramshia, thanked Dr. Donkor for the initiative and assured that the centre would be fully staffed and equipped in the coming weeks.
Residents, community leaders, and health workers expressed gratitude to the former MP, describing the project as a “timely intervention,” particularly in addressing maternal and child healthcare challenges in the area.
The commissioning of the Parambo Sawaba Health Centre adds to a series of developmental projects initiated by Dr. Donkor, highlighting his focus on education, health, and community welfare.
