Manhyia South Member of Parliament Nana Agyei Baffour Awuah has renewed his criticism of Ghana Football Association (GFA) president Kurt Okraku, calling for reforms to Ghanaian football.
Speaking to Luv FM in his first interview since his public dispute with the GFA president began, Awuah accused Okraku of struggling to accept criticism.
“Kurt Okraku has always had problems with criticism,” he said.
“He takes criticism as people battling him. Ahead of the 2022 World Cup, he attacked people who questioned how things were done, but Ghana football is beyond Kurt Okraku.”
The exchange follows a growing war of words between the two after Awuah urged President John Mahama to intervene in Ghanaian football, alleging that the GFA had been taken over by a “cabal”.
Okraku, who has led the GFA since 2019, responded by questioning the MP’s credentials to comment on football administration, asking how many football pitches he had built for constituents in Manhyia South.
Awuah rejected the criticism, saying his constituency already has three AstroTurfs and insisting the debate should focus on the wider challenges facing Ghana football rather than personal attacks.
