The Ghana Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) have announced the extension of operational hours at the Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi and the Tamale International Airport, effective June 1, 2025.

This move is intended to enhance accessibility and provide greater convenience for travellers using the two airports.

Per the new schedule, Prempeh I International Airport in Kumasi will now operate until 11:00 PM, an extension from its previous 8:00 PM closing time. Tamale International Airport will also see extended hours, closing at 10:00 PM instead of 6:00 PM.

In a joint statement, the GCAA and GACL noted that a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM) has been issued to inform all airlines of the changes.

The statement further indicated that domestic airlines have been advised to adjust their flight schedules and increase frequency to and from both airports.
